International Festival of Sport

Brighton & Hove Petanque Club are proud to be taking part in Brighton & Hove City Council’s International Festival of Sport taking place from 28 June to 13 July 2008.

The festival kicks off with TAKEPART in Preston Park on 28 June which will feature sports clubs and associations from across Brighton & Hove and a huge range of sports and activities for everyone. TAKEPART has been set up by Brighton & Hove City Council, the local Brighton and Hove City Teaching Primary Care Trust and the city’s Schools Sports Partnership. It is supported by the Sussex County Sports Partnership, Sport England and the Youth Sports Trust.
The Seafront Weekend takes place on 5/6 July with activities taking place between Brighton Marina and Hove Lagoon. Activities will include the Paddle round the Pier event, beach volleyball, beach soccer, sailing, surfing and of course petanque!

Over the weekend of 12/13 July a series of competitions and tournaments are being planned across the city.

The International Festival of Sport will provide a great opportunity to promote our club, the sport of petanque and to firmly establish ourselves as part of Brighton & Hove’s sporting and community network
